Why choose Ali’s Surf School?

I am an independent surf instructor who aims to give every student the surf session that best meets their needs! I am really passionate about what I do and I like to think that shows in my service! The idea is to keep it simple, small and personalized!

My commitment to my students remains the same it's always been since I began instructing in 2021, to provide them with an unforgettable and safe surf experience!

Being a small surf school allows me to adapt to your plans & needs! Whether you're staying in Tofino or in Ucluelet, you can select the area in which is more convenient for you to surf at! No matter your skill level, we can find something that works for you.

Comfort and ease is my goal. I provide my students with warm 5:4 wetsuits to keep everyone nice and toasty. To save your energy for the surf I use a surf caddy to bring the boards to the beach on the longer trails, saving your arms from the long carry!

A core value of my school is to humbly honour and acknowledge the privilege that myself, other residents and visitors share by standing on the traditional lands of the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ and yuułuʔiłʔatḥ first nations. We say thank you by way of a short opening acknowledgment during each session and by offering a percentage from each lesson to different local First Nations initiatives and societies.

A little bit about me

I, like many on the Coast, live and breathe surfing. And I love nothing more than sharing my stoke for the waves with others! Alongside running my lessons, I also surf instruct for a local First Nation initiative, mułaa (Rising Tides) where we take local Nuu-chah-nulth youth surfing, I’m a member of the Tofino Life Saving Club, as well as being a volunteer firefighter for the Ucluelet Fire Department.
